Each year a new committee is elected and this was the case on 29th October 2017. A number of the committee have stood down to take some deserved time out after faithfully serving for quite a number of years as volunteers; we have a new chairman in Luke Eastwood who I am sure will do a great job with his team. The new committee have already made a number of changes; we have confirmed the date for Sat 7th July 2018, and themed the carnival for the "Riverside" taking account the rich heritage of our town. There are a number of changes taking place which should improve the event, we will update you indue course. Meanwhile Lorna and I will be staying on as advisers to ensure a smooth transition.

Not long to go before this years Carnival on the 4th July; if the weather forecast is correct it's going to be very hot this weekend so be prepared and be safe from the sun; the main thing is to have a great fun filled day and we hope you all enjoy it.
Taking part this year 2015;
Lead Carnival Car, Essex Marching Corps, Mayors Party, Carnival Queen representing Northfleet School for Girls, Royal British Legion, Gravesham Breast Buddies, Phil's Removals, Riverside Active Lives, City Praise Centre, CASARA Word on the Street, Meet the Royals, Knights Unplugged, Zest Dance Academy, Hatten-Wyatt, Cecil Road Primary School, British Heart Foundation, Colyer Colts Football Club, Robin Academy of Dance and Theatre, Kings Farm/Ifield Schools, The Woodville, W J king, Wilkinson, Eastgate,, Age UK, Hot Rod Diner, Anchor Foster Care, Gravesham Ladies FC (under 16's), Auxiliary Fire Service, Shapers (Gravesend), Carnival signs van, Carnival Rear Safety Vehicle.
Well, here we go; planning is in progress for next years Carnival event on Saturday 4th July 2015 .
There are five categories to choose from with one sub section for local organisations and charities, the rest are as shown. We decided to use the special category as an american theme as it's their independence day on the 4th July. This is not the theme for the entire carnival; you are free to choose what you want to along as the entry complies with our terms and conditions.
We will be working with the Gravesend Regatta Committee this time around and promoting both events as they are on the same day. There will an opportunity for some stalls and perhaps a performance if you want to enter at the bandstand at the prom where we finish. We may award our trophies there but that has yet to be decided. This website now has the 2015 application forms available for use. I must emphasise that you can enter ANY type of vehicle or PEDESTRIAN event and if you are able to supply said vehicle then that's great. We have a limited number of lorries supplied by hauliers, these tend to go very quickly. Again Northfleet Carnival can not be responsible if hauliers withdraw their vehicles or they break down prior to the event or on the day, this is something entirely out of our control. That being said it's never been a big problem but it can happen, so long as you are aware. Vehicles are allocated on a first come first served basis.
So, it's time to get your thinking caps on, the 2014 carnival was the largest we have had in the past few years but we always want to do better, so help us build a bigger event than last year. If anyone is interested in joining the organising committee we would be glad of any help offered.
